The provision of quality, timely service is a goal we seek to meet at all times. We value excellence, and will do our very best to ensure that the assistance we provide meets your expectations.
You and your psychologist or specialist will discuss your specific needs at the start of your first session. Assessment, intervention and counselling are generally beneficial to most individuals, although at times some topics may be upsetting to discuss at first. Keeping scheduled appointments and following through on recommendations is the best way to benefit from our services.
Payment for Services
Payment for services is required at the time of each appointment. If you have insurance coverage, you will then submit the receipt for reimbursement. In some cases, direct billing to insurance companies or third parties may be possible. Cash, Visa, Master Card, American Express and Interac e-Transfer are accepted. Personal cheques are not accepted. If you have any questions regarding the firm’s billing policies please discuss the matter directly with your Psychologist.
For Interac e-Transfer, please use this email [email protected]. For the security question, please use “My child’s first name is?” and set the answer to your first name if you are the patient and don’t have a child or to your child’s first name.
Our fee schedule is as follows:
- Individual – $250/hour + GST
- Family Counselling – $250/hour + GST
- Assessment/Diagnosis – $250/hour + GST
* A Sliding Fee Scale for all services is available upon request.
Telephone consultation, letter and form completion will be invoiced at the cost of the service provided.
The appointment time you have booked is reserved exclusively for your use. If you find you are unable to keep an appointment please advise us as soon as possible. Cancellation or rescheduling of appointments requires forty-eight (48) hours advance notification to avoid being billed for the cost of the session.
The information you share will not be given to anyone without your written permission. All professionals and staff have taken an oath of confidentiality to protect your rights. There are a few rare occasions when confidentiality must be waived; if possible, you will be advised if this should ever be necessary. These include the following:
- If your psychologist has reason to believe that you are in danger to yourself or others he/she has a legal responsibility to report this to the appropriate authorities.
- If your psychologist or file is subpoenaed to court, the information must be released.
- Information indicating child abuse or neglect must be reported to Child Welfare authorities.
- If you are under 18 years of age, or have been appointed a legal guardian of the courts, certain information may have to be shared with your guardian.
If you have children in therapy, what your child tells his or her psychologist will be treated as confidential unless the psychologist determines that there are some risk factors which you as a parent need to know; or unless you, your child and the psychologist have made other arrangements for questions to be asked and information to be obtained.
